When you join YMCA of Metro Denver, you:

  • Sign a membership agreement/waiver
  • Agree to our Code of Conduct
  • Select a “home Y” location (Home Y selection determines which location-specific communications you receive. Home Y selection does not affect your facility access — as a member, you’re welcome at all wellness center locations.)

Each guest, including out of state guests, is allowed three days of access to our facility.

Out of state YMCA members are welcome.

  • ONLY 3-Day Trial Passes are eligible to reserve a spot in Adventure Zone.
  • Out of state nationwide YMCA members will be required to follow the Guest Pass restrictions. Up to 28 visits at no cost (non-consecutive).

Members of the YMCA of Metro Denver can bring in-state guests who are under the age of 18.

A waiver signed by that guest’s parent or guardian within the last 12 months must be on file with the YMCA.

Day passes to the Y are available to non-members - individuals and families.

  • Included: pool, cardio and strength equipment, Adventure Zone and classes (by drop-in, depending on availability)
  • Cost: Individual ranges from $10-15/day (depending on location); must be 18+
  • Cost: Family is $20/day (includes 2 adults + unlimited dependents)

Annual membership at the YMCA of Metro Denver is exclusive to our 6 YMCAs (Arvada, Aurora, Downtown, Littleton, Southwest and University Hills YMCAs) in the metro Denver area.

As a YMCA of Metro Denver member, you select a home YMCA (from the list above) and may visit any other YMCA noted above at no additional charge.

You may also take advantage of YMCAs Nationwide Program at no additional cost, provided that YMCA participates in that program. Learn more: https://denverymca.org/nationwide-membership.

Annual memberships are non-refundable and non-transferrable to another YMCA association in the United States or abroad.

We’re sorry to see you go!

Before you go, did you know:

  • You must be a member through one billing cycle before you can cancel your membership.
  • A cancellation notice is required on the 25th of the month in order to cancel membership. Failure to provide cancellation notice on or before the 25th  of any given month will result in reoccurring fees to continue.
  • If you are currently registered in a YMCA program - summer camp, swim, sports, etc. - your member discount will no longer apply, and you will be responsible for the difference between the member and non-member program rate. If you joined the Y during a special promotion period and took advantage of early registration for a program and you cancel your membership prior to the program start, your program enrollment may be subject to cancellation.
  • The Y offers a Virtual Y Membership! Workout anytime, anywhere with on-demand and live streaming classes. Les Mills, yoga, Total Body Fitness and much more. Want to hear more?

Membership Holds

As a member, you can complete the online member contact-us form or visit the front desk of your wellness center to request to put your YMCA of Metro Denver membership on hold for $10 per month.

As a reminder, all membership changes must be submitted no later than the 25th of the current month to take effect the following month.

Restrictions apply: Annual memberships and Virtual memberships are not eligible to be put on hold. Y Your Way memberships cannot have active registrations for eligible programs during the membership-hold period.

Up to 6 consecutive months.

Continued Benefits

While your membership is on hold, you maintain access to virtual Y, YMCA360 and YMCA nationwide membership benefits. Find more information on our Nationwide Benefit.

Facility Access

During the hold, your access to Denver YMCA wellness centers is restricted throughout all Denver locations. You do not have access to fitness spaces, equipment, pools, gyms, sports areas, locker rooms or group fitness classes. You may purchase a service, such as personal training, at the non-member price and use the facility during your session only.

Member Pricing

During the hold, you do not have access to member pricing on fee-based services, such as:

  • Personal Training
  • Pilates Reformer
  • Health Coaching
  • Nutrition Consultation
  • Massage Therapy
  • Summer Camp
  • Youth Sports
  • Out of School Time
  • Workshops, series and classes

Example: If you’ve registered for Summer Camp and put your membership on hold, you will be responsible for the non-member price of camp. Similarly, if you put your Y Your Way membership on hold and have active registrations for eligible programs, you will be responsible for the non-member price of the program.

Re-activate your YMCA membership and access your membership benefits at any time by completing the online member contact-us form to remove the hold on your account.

  1. Complete the online member contact-us form.
  2. In the Category drop-down menu, select “Membership.”
  3. In the Request Type drop-down menu, select “Membership - Hold”
  4. In the subject field, enter “Membership Hold.”
  5. In the message field, enter your request to put your membership on hold, including your requested beginning and end dates. (Your membership will be automatically re-activated on the end date you request, and your membership fees will resume being auto-withdrawn on the 1st of every month).

Request your membership hold by the 25th of the month to take effect the following month. Example: Provide notice by June 25 for a membership hold starting July 1.

Re-activate your YMCA membership and regain your membership benefits at any time by completing the online member contact-us form to remove the hold on your account.

Holds are for the entire membership-account. For example, if you have a Y-Premium Couple membership, and one of you wishes to go on hold, you might consider temporarily downgrading your membership to Y-Premium Individual instead of putting your membership on hold. You can upgrade your membership at any time.

Complete the online member contact-us form to downgrade your membership.

Downgrade examples include:

  • From Y Your Way to Household: From Y Your Way benefits to Premium Household benefits; excludes the options to utilize credits for eligible programs at no additional cost.
  • From Household to Couple: From a family membership group to just two individuals on the membership who have access and membership benefits.
  • From Couple to Individual: From two individuals on the membership to one person on the membership.
  • From Premium to Starter: An individual downgrading membership benefits from Premium level (EGYM, Nationwide access, unlimited group exercise class access) to Starter (general facility access, no EGYM, no Nationwide, no group exercise classes).

Join Fees

As of June 1, 2024, the YMCA of Metro Denver will institute a join fee of $50 for new Y-Starter and Premium memberships. This is a one-time fee that is charged at purchase of a new membership activation.

Join fees do not apply to membership upgrades or downgrades. Join fees do apply to memberships re-activated after prior cancellation. For multiple-person memberships (i.e. Household and Couple), only one join fee is charged.

There are no join fees for Virtual, Annual and Y Your Way memberships.

Yes, join fees apply to memberships re-activated after cancellation. If you cancel your membership and rejoin later, you will be charged a $50 join fee.

Instead of cancellation, consider putting your membership on hold for $10 per month for up to 6 months. Complete the online member contact-us form to request a membership hold or visit the front desk of your wellness center.

Join fees for scholarship recipients will be discounted based on the scholarship award amount.
