Colorado Child Care Assistance Program for Families

The YMCA partners with the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) which provides child care assistance to families who are working, searching for employment or are in training, and families who are enrolled in the Colorado Works program and need child care services to support their efforts toward self-sufficiency. CCCAP provides families access to reduced cost child care at licensed child care facilities like the YMCA.

Families apply through the human services department in the County where they reside.

Once you have applied above, please contact us to process your camp request. We will help you create a YMCA account, which you need to do before you can register for camp.

We encourage you to contact us soon, so you can register when camp registration opens on your eligible date to register.

Families accessing CCCAP benefits must notify camp site supervisors if they need to cancel or miss scheduled care. CCCAP families with excessive absences will be dropped from the program to open spaces to other families.

When all camp spots fill, a family can register for the waitlist during the registration process. All program spots are first come, first-served, so the first person on the waitlist will be the first person eligible for a spot.

If a spot opens up for your child and they are next on the waitlist, your child will be automatically enrolled into that week of camp, and the payment method on file will be charged.

  • If you do not have a valid, stored payment method on file, your waitlist spot will be forfeited. This includes credit cards that have expired. Reminder, starting in February credit card payments will incur an additional 2% fee.
  • Waitlist spots will be made available as spots open up in camp. If you have multiple children on the waitlist, we cannot guarantee that all children will be enrolled in camp.
  • Waitlist spots cannot be transferred to other weeks or other types of camp.
  • If you are a CCCAP family, make sure you contact us to secure your coupon code to apply should you move off the waitlist into a camp week.
  • If you do not take this step and you don’t have a payment method on file, your waitlist spot will be forfeited. If you do have a payment method on file, your credit card will be charged.

If, while on the waitlist, you find another camp option for your child, and you want to be removed from the waitlist, you must submit a request to be removed in this form.

If you do not submit this request, your child could end up enrolled in camp and your payment method on file will be charged.

OST CCCAP FAQ

The Colorado Child Care Assistance Program is a government funded program that provides financial assistance with child care costs to eligible, low-income families.

Families apply through the human services department in the County where they reside.

CCCAP families are given an allowance of absences per month. These allowances are outlined below:

  • Adams County and Denver County: allows for 1 absence per month
  • Arapahoe County: allows for 2 absences per month
  • Jefferson County: allows for 3 absences per month

Any additional absences will be charged to you directly from our billing department at the rate provided by CCCAP.

What is considered an absence? An absence is when a child does not attend care on a "scheduled" day when they were authorized by CCCAP to attend. ("Scheduled" means listed on the Program Registration/Contract or registered via the online request form)

All CCCAP families must use the CCCAP online attendance system (ATS) daily. This is essential to ensure the continued success of CCCAP in our YMCAs and in the facilities where we operate OST. If a family continually fails to use the CCCAP attendance system in a timely fashion, care will be terminated due to the potential risk of incorrect payments from CCCAP.

It is important to note that we offer a limited number of CCCAP spots in our Out of School Time programs.

Our CCCAP Interest List for the academic year opens at the beginning of July.

We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, where families may request to be added to the list for one of our CCCAP eligible sites and start the registration process.

CCCAP families do not register online! If and when you are offered an official spot, we will initiate the registration process with you that is unique to CCCAP families.

Setting up your online account with a form of payment will give you a headstart. However, you will be charged full price for any online registrations you place and will be accountable for the balance.

Please do not register online as you will be charged full-price and end up accountable for the balance!

CCCAP is a social service that offers financial assistance to families in the form of government subsidies paid directly to a child’s child care provider.

The Y offers financial assistance to families using funds we have raised through the generosity of our donors. Should your income qualify you for CCCAP, you will be directed by the YMCA to apply first for these benefits prior to any scholarship application review.

CCCAP and the Y’s scholarship may not be used simultaneously.

Not all program locations are CCCAP-eligible and we have limited slots that are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

In order to deliver consistent staffing, enrichment opportunities, family experience and meet community demand for full-time care, the YMCA presently offers full-time care only using CCCAP benefits.  Work with your social worker at CCCAP regarding other sites that offer part-time care.

To be considered Full Time under CCCAP, a child must attend a minimum of 4 days a week. Families that attend less than the minimum of 4 days a week may be terminated.

Families accessing CCCAP benefits must notify site supervisors if they need to cancel or miss scheduled care. CCCAP families with excessive absences will be dropped from the program to open spaces to other families.

Please pay your parent fee no later than the 1st of each month. Failure to pay on or before the 1st of each month may result in termination of care.
