I want to share with you the news of my resignation as President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Metro Denver. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of leading such an extraordinary organization and team and am filled with pride for the remarkable milestones achieved during my tenure.
Over the last five years, we executed our One Mission. One Vision. One Voice. Strategic Plan, paving the way for many of the key initiatives the Y pursues today, including our real estate redevelopment efforts, new membership model and internal operating/staff initiatives. Together, we also navigated a global pandemic and expanded the YMCA’s work in the crucial areas of education, child care, food security and health and, most recently, addressing the epidemic of isolation and loneliness.
Over the years, I have had the great opportunity to get to know so many of you and have always appreciated your feedback – even when it was tough to hear – as I know it originated from a love for this YMCA.
It was with mixed emotions that I resigned this position to assume the role of President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. But I am optimistic that the organization will continue to thrive and achieve even greater success long after my departure. I eagerly anticipate witnessing the continued growth and impact of the organization in the years to come.
I am committed to a seamless transition with the Board of Directors before my last day on January 12, 2024, and will support them as they conduct a search for the next CEO of the YMCA of Metro Denver.
It has been an incredibly rewarding journey, and my time at the YMCA of Metro Denver will always hold a special place in my heart.
With warm regards,
Sue Glass
President & CEO
