Returning to the Y She Helped Build

Terry Goldwater will be returning to the YMCA of Metro Denver as Executive Director of the Arvada-Duncan YMCA beginning July 6.

A Colorado native and Arvada resident, she began her YMCA career at the Susan M. Duncan Family YMCA in 1999, where she played a key role in opening the facility and building its Fitness and Aquatics programs. During her time at the Arvada-Duncan Y, she was promoted several times, ultimately serving as Associate Executive Director. 

Since then, Terry has continued to grow as a leader in recreation and community services. She spent 15 years with Apex Parks and Recreation District, Arvada's Provider of Recreation, managing the Apex Center and leading large teams and operations. Most recently, she served as Senior Executive Director of the Lafayette YMCA, part of the YMCA of Northern Colorado, where she also provided association-wide leadership for Ice and Sports programs. 

Terry brings a deep understanding of the YMCA mission, extensive leadership experience and a longstanding connection to the Arvada community. We are thrilled to welcome her back to the Y and confident she will continue building on the strong foundation of the Arvada-Duncan YMCA. 

Outside of work, Terry enjoys spending time with her husband, Brad, and their two Portuguese Water Dogs. She also enjoys snowboarding, scuba diving, live music, Pilates, weightlifting, swimming and biking.
