New Group Exercise Reservation Policy — What You Need to Know

Group Fitness YMCA of Metro Denver
September 30, 2025

At the YMCA, we love seeing our members staying active, connecting with others and building healthy habits through group exercise classes. To make sure as many people as possible can participate in these popular sessions, we're introducing a new Group Exercise Reservation Policy designed to keep spots open for those who are ready to use them.

What's Changing

Starting November 1, members who have three (3) "no shows" or who fail to cancel a reservation at least one hour before class (through Fisikal) will be temporarily blocked from reserving group exercise classes for 14 days. You will be sent email communications when an infraction occurs with a reminder of the policy.

Good news: If you're added from the waitlist within the hour before class starts, you won’t be penalized if you can’t attend.

What Classes Are Included

This policy applies to all group exercise classes available in Fisikal.

Programs with a separate fee — like Pilates Reformer, Studio Y and Personal Training — will continue to follow their own cancellation policies.

Why We're Making This Change

One of the biggest perks of a Y-Premium membership is access to our wide variety of group exercise classes. They're a great way to stay motivated, challenge yourself and be part of our community.

But we've heard from members that some of our most popular classes fill up quickly — and sometimes spots go unused because people reserve but don't show up or don’t cancel in time.

After listening to your feedback and reviewing what other YMCAs and fitness centers are doing, we developed this new policy to keep classes as accessible as possible for everyone who wants to attend.
