 Featured Programs at the Arvada YMCA! 

Going from Couch to 5K? Trying to run your fastest half-marathon? Training for a triathlon? No matter your fitness level, learn the strength, core, and mobility exercises needed to supplement your endurance training. All levels and abilities welcome. 

Learn the fundamentals of calisthenics (bodyweight exercises). Correctly perform pull, push, squat, and hinge movements using primarily bodyweight resistance. Incorporate other equipment to enhance performance on calisthenics exercises.

Light weights for long, lean muscles? Cardio hurts your gains? Fat loss with the 12-3-30 treadmill workout? Does hot yoga work better? Explore current fitness fads, how they originated, and whether they really work. Receive science-based training recommendations on how to lose weight, build muscle, get stronger, and perform better.

Do you need to feel more confident in your balance? Join chair yoga instructor Stacey for this two-hour workshop to learn techniques to prevent falls and build confidence.

In this workshop, participants will teach muscle activation techniques that will address range of motion and tightness in the neck, back and glutes.

Learn the fundamentals of hip hop and break dance- rhythm, musicality, body isolations, footwork, freestyle, showmanship, and entertaining choreography combinations. It's a technique and a vibe! Music and movement will be clean and age appropriate.

One hour of relaxation and meditation to sound bowls, a gong, ocean drum, and wind chimes. Let it all go and find your inner peace. Pillows, blankets, and comfy clothes are encouraged!

Mini bands, also known as resistance bands, are an effective and versatile tool which can be used to increase strength and stability all throughout the body. They are ideal for lateral movement exercises, hip and glute activation and shoulder stabilization. In this workshop you will learn a variety of exercises with different bands.  

Learn all about the fundamental types of stretching and how to apply them to your fitness routine in this one hour workshop

In this Pickleball workshop, you will refine your serve and return-of-serve techniques, integrating stacking strategies.

The Y introduced our country to group swim lessons more than a century ago and now teaches more than a million children across the national invaluable water safety and swimming skills.
