Progress on Post-Flood Repairs/Renovations
A few updates for members:
Basketball Court/Indoor Track: We had a long wait for flooring to replace and repair the gym floor. The flooring will arrive at our site next week. It needs to acclimate to the room before it is installed, but completion and re-opening is on track for the end of May. As we get closer to finishing the work, we will alert members on the exact re-opening day.
Massage Room: The finishing touches on paint and trim are nearing completion and we expect to re-open the massage room on Friday, Apr. 29. Hiring for a message therapist is underway so that we can restart scheduling for this Y amenity.
Cybex Area (Second Floor): We have received the flooring needed to repair this area and are currently waiting on a dumpster permit to start this project.
Signage: Wayfinding and signage for our studios and restrooms are in production. These are the finishing touches to return our Downtown Y to pre-flood condition!
This week there was an unexpected leak in the stretch area on the second floor and it was cleaned up right away. We are expecting replacement ceiling tiles from the condo association responsible for the tile, and as soon as they are received, they will be installed.
It has been a lengthy process to get materials and schedule the repair work at our Downtown Y and we thank you for being patient and continuing to work around these inconveniences.
