Parent/Child Yoga (ages 18mo-5y/o) Sundays 1:45-2:30pm

Partner with your little one in this simple animated yoga class that will teach them to reach and stretch their bodies helping to promote coordination, development of gross motor skills, body awareness and taking mindful breaths. These fun classes satisfy a child’s natural thirst for knowledge and movement. Classes will follow a simple and engaging theme and will foster their growing imaginations through pretend play and story telling. In this playful and imaginative series, we combine yoga poses, repetition, games, songs and stories that exercise social, sensory and motor skills.

Young Yoga (ages 4-8) Wednesdays 6-7pm

Classes follow a simple and engaging theme blending poses with imaginative play, repetition and breath awareness to encourage self-awareness, self-expression and social skills. Children will strengthen their bodies through movement and static poses, promoting balance, coordination and physical tolerance. Children will also learn breathing and relaxation techniques promoting self-regulation and emotional tolerance. The class concludes with relaxation and time for creative expression.

Membership

The Y’s family memberships offer something for everyone. Kids get the opportunity to make friends, have fun, and discover who they are and what they can achieve. Parents get a way to meet new people, who all share an interest in staying active, living healthier and giving back to their community. Through all this, the Y brings families closer together, helping them connect with each other through fitness, sports, and fun. You can join anytime – memberships are month to month, and there are no contracts. Membership lets you go to all five Denver Metropolitan Ys, as well as other Ys throughout the state. Members receive discounts on youth sports, swim lessons, and special programs. They also get a one-hour session for a Personal Wellness Plan by one of the Y’s nationally certified personal trainers.
