Fitness Classes at Southshore
Southshore residents receive 2 free fitness classes per week. The cost of additional classes beyond the first 2 is $5 per class. Non-Residents must pay for fitness classes. The cost is $7 per class for single attendance, or $5 per class with a purchase of a 5 visit punch card.
The following classes are offered at Southshore:
YOGA: Mon. 9:30 – 10:30am, Tues. & Thurs. 6 - 7pm
An exercise discipline that dates back to ancient India, yoga involves moving the body through a series of positions and stretches, while focusing on breathing or specific thoughts. Yoga benefits include increased energy levels, greater muscle tone and strength, and better balance.
YOGALATES: Tues./Thurs 11:00-12pm
A successful fusion of the practices of Yoga and Pilates, this method, which makes the disciplines of Yoga and Pilates easily available to anyone. Yogalates is described as a meeting place of east and west because it effectively merges the ancient practice of Yoga from the east with the core stabilizing, posture enhancing dynamics of Pilates from the west.
ZUMBA: Wed. 7pm - 8pm
Zumba combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system.
NIA: Sat. 9:00am - 10:00am
Nia is a cardio dance group fitness class that incorporates martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. As an ongoing practice, Nia promotes mindfulness and holistic fitness and well-being.
